The Thief’s core virtue is their Cunning. At character creation, they gain the following traits:

Advancements by Rank

Rank 1: Ability.

Name Type Cost Description
Steal Melee 1 AP Select an enemy and roll on their item table. If you obtain an item from this roll, you may use it immediately without spending any AP or you may put it in your inventory if you have enough Carrying Capacity. You may only obtain one item per enemy per battle with this ability.

Rank 2: You gain +1 Physical Attack.

Rank 3: Ability.

Hide Self 1 AP You apply the Hidden status to yourself. While you are Hidden, you cannot be the target of any single-target enemy abilities. At the beginning of your next turn, if you act while Hidden, or if you are the only allied character remaining on the battlefield, the Hidden status is removed.

Rank 4: You gain +1 Physical Attack.

Rank 5: Ability.

Pickpocket Reaction N/A When an enemy misses you using a physical attack, magical attack, or status-inflicting ability, you may use Steal on them immediately without spending any AP.

Rank 6: You gain +1 Physical Attack.

Rank 7: Ability.

Sneak Attack Passive If you use a physical attack, magical attack, or status-inflicting ability while Hidden, you may roll the hit die twice and choose the result you prefer.  

Rank 8: You gain +1 Physical Attack.

Rank 9: You gain +1 Physical Attack.

Capstone: Ability.

Name Type Cost Description
Assassinate Melee 1 Anima, 2 AP Select an enemy and roll a 1d10. That enemy loses a percentage of their remaining combined HP and Shell equal to the result on the die multiplied by 10. Antagonists cannot be reduced below 1 HP by this ability.

Talents

Striker: Lifesteal. When you use Steal on an enemy and roll a 4 on their item table, you drain an amount of HP from them equal to your current Physical Attack and give it to yourself.

Caster: Manasteal. When you use Steal on an enemy and roll a 4 on their item table, you drain an amount of MP from them equal to your current Magical Attack and give it to yourself.

Healer: Night Shift. You may use your Healer abilities while Hidden without removing the status from yourself.

Defender: Ninja Bodyguard. You may use Guard, Shield, Counter, and Reflect without losing the Hidden status. If any of the effects of these abilities are triggered while you are Hidden, you lose the Hidden status.

Support: Shellsteal. When you use Steal on an enemy and roll a 4 on their item table, you drain an amount of Shell from them equal to your current Magical Attack and give it to yourself. Your current Shell will then become the elemental type of the drained Shell.

Saboteur: Infection. When you use Steal on an enemy and roll a 4 on their item table, you inflict the status on them associated with your elemental type. If they are immune to this status, this talent does not apply.
